The representatives of the Ministry of the Environmental Protection of Ukraine and the National Agency of Environmental Investments attended the meeting.
A.Semynoha, the Committee Chairman, stated that Ukraine still has one of the most favourable investment situations in terms of implementing Kyoto Protocol, since the cost of industry re-equipment and reduction of greenhouse gases emission is relatively small.
However, all the conditions for implementing Kyoto Protocol have not been yet created. Therefore, the Committee resolved to recommend that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submits the Bill on Regulation of Amount of Anthropogenic Emissions and Greenhouse Gases Absorption for parliamentary consideration. The People´s Deputies also deem necessary to facilitate signing of international agreements on cooperation in the field of climate changes, including cooperation in the process of implementing projects of joint realization.
